We developed a complete brand identity, including a logo, website, stationery, brochures, and billboards, for this arts organization dedicated to establishing a 41-acre, three-building art center to serve the state and region.
Using overlapping, translucent planes to create the logo—the letter “M”—we created a symbol that’s both consistent and flexible with a palette of interchangeable chromatic colors and applications for two and three dimensions. The design is dynamic, with the intersecting lines of the logo visually evoking the kinetic energy of the artworks and performances that will be showcased at the center. Because of this, the logo works as well in videos and interactive applications as it does in static printed materials. We also designed a dramatic sculptural installation for the center’s lobby that’s a 3D representation of the logo.
The multi-purpose arts center is the first phase of construction and will be over 9,100 GSF when completed, including an outdoor amphitheater, two educational buildings for dance, music and theater, and exhibition and gallery space. The center also includes The Bear Legacy Adventure Trail, gifted by the Emily Bayless Graham Estate to build a community cultural arts center and preserve passive park land.
